British Chambers of Commerce

The British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey (Association) is the second oldest British Chamber of Commerce outside the United Kingdom. It was founded in Istanbul in 1887 by a group of British businessmen, several of whose families or “home-based” companies had already traded in Turkey for many years. The first meeting to discuss the formation of a Chamber was held on February 16, 1887, the Chair being taken by Mr. Whittaker, Editor of the now long defunct Levant Herald.

The Association is located at Harbiye Mh. Asker Ocağı Cd. Süzer Plaza No.:9 Şişli – 34367 İstanbul – Turkey.
